====== Message Base Settings ======

This section of the Mystic BBS Configuration System allows the SysOp to configure a number of settings that apply to the message base system in Mystic BBS. Here you can define how you wish message bases to be displayed, if messages should be sent immediately upon their creation, rules regarding the way netmail can be sent etc. There are areas here that you will want to update from their default settings.

This example screen is from a Windows based system and displays the standard 'out of the box' settings that ship with the default installation.

=== List Compression ===

This option, if toggled on, will compress message area numbers so they are always sequential during a message area list.  So in a message area list, if a user does not have access to area number 2, then the next area that the user does have access to will become area number 2.

=== List Columns ===

This option allows the number of columns used in the message area lists to be configured.  Valid options are 1 or 2 columns. 

=== Show Message Header ===

When this option is set to "Yes", Mystic will re-display the message header after a page full of message text has been displayed.

=== Bases in Group List ===

If this setting is set to Yes then Mystic will calculate the number of bases found in each group. If set to No then it will skip it

=== Max AutoSig Lines ===

This option defines the maximum number of lines a user will be allowed to use in their auto signature.  An auto signature is a few lines of text which is automatically appended to each message a user posts.  Many users will use their auto signature to add their handle and BBS telnet address to each message.

=== Force NL Match ===

If this is set to Yes, Mystic will force a user who is sending netmail to match an address found in the nodelist.  If it is set to No Mystic will still allow a user to search the nodelist, but if it does not find a match they will still have the option to send the netmail.

=== Extended Reply ACS ===

If this ACS value is met for a user, Mystic will allow the user to select the message base which the reply will go to. 

=== Attachment ACS ===

This ACS value is now depreciated and no longer has any affect.

=== Msg Upload ACS ===

This is the ACS value that must be met before a user can upload message content in to the message editor (Full Screen or Line Editor) whilst composing a message. To use this feature a user presses the U key from the available menu options from within the message editor.

=== Add [ANSI] Prefix ===

Mystic now has an option to add [ANSI] prefix to message subjects of ANSI messages. This can be set to off, on, or echomail only.

=== Add Re: Prefix ===

When this option is on Mystic will add "Re:" to the subjects of replies (as Mystic always has) or when off it will strip Re: and not add.

//**Note:** Mystic will now strip all [ANSI] tags and RE: prefixes prior to replying to a message, and recalculate/re-add them as required when saving the reply message.  That means if you reply to a message with an ANSI tag but the reply contains no ANSI, the [ANSI] tag will be removed from the subject.//

=== Default Origin ===

Sets the default text used in the Origin line when a new message base is created. This can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Quote Color ===

This option is used to set the default display color for Quoted text while reading messages.  This color can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Text Color ===

This option is used to set the default display color for text while reading messages.  This color can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Tear Color ===

This option is used to set the default display color for the Tear Line while reading messages.  This color can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Origin Color ===

This option is used to set the default display color for the Origin line while reading messages.  This color can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Kludge Color ===

This option is used to set the default display color for Kludge lines displayed while reading messages.

To toggle on/off the view of these special control lines press the V key when viewing a message in a message base configured as Echomail.  This color can also be configured for each individual message base in the Message Base Editor.

=== Netmail Crash ===

When this option is set to "Yes", the CRASH flag will be set true on all outgoing Netmail messages.

=== Netmail Hold ===

When this option is set to "Yes", the HOLD flag will be set true on all outgoing Netmail messages.

=== Netmail Kilsent ===

When this option is set to "Yes", the KILL flag will be set true on all outgoing Netmail messages.

=== Netmail Direct ===

When this option is set to "Yes", the DIRECT flag will be set true on all outgoing Netmail messages.

=== Create Semaphore ===

This setting determines whether or not Mystic will create semaphore files immediately when saving a message, or if it will wait for the user to logoff. This can be a powerful tool to enable messages to be sent within 60 seconds of a user saving a message on your BBS. When combined with a MUTIL option for [ExportEchomail] entitled "skip_online". If this value is set to false, Mystic will toss new messages posted by them even if they are currently logged into the BBS.

=== Ask Message Post ===

When this option is set to Yes, Mystic will ask the users if they would like to post a message before moving to
the next message base during a new scan or when reading messages and reaching the final message.
